The novelty of this challenge wore off a long time ago. We’re not quite at the end. It’s difficult to get excited about week 5. And yet, that’s the point.
If you want results that last a lifetime, you have to be good at the mundane. Hopefully by now, some of the new behaviours you’ve started are feeling pretty normal – boring even – but most things we do that improve our lives are normal and boring. Work, business, cooking for your family…
Let me encourage you. Did you know that if you’re here at the gym 2-3 times a week, you’re the 1 in 5 that is trending towards a healthier and fitter life. 1 in 5!
If you aren’t at your goal yet, don’t worry. You’re going in the right direction. Just keep showing up.
Some days you won’t want to, no-one wants to every day. Show up anyway. 4 in 5 won’t.
And it doesn’t make a difference after 1 day. Its miniscule at 10 days. But after a year it’s obvious. After 10 it can be life and death. I don’t want to be the guy that blows everything out of proportion but honestly that’s the truth.
And so, my encouragement to you is when you find something boring and mundane, that’s a good sign. KEEP SHOWING UP.
